NL Cy Young Odds: Max Scherzer Widens Lead Over Corbin Burnes on FanDuel Sportsbook

With a little more than a week left of the MLB's regular season, three-time National League Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer is on the cusp of adding another piece of hardware to his impressive resume.

Scherzer currently leads all other NL pitchers in the latest Cy Young award odds on FanDuel Sportsbook, widening his lead (-260) over Milwaukee Brewers' Corbin Burnes (+180) from The Duel's most recent update.

It's been a near-perfect month of September for Scherzer. In four starts, the eight-time All-Star hasn't allowed a single run in 29.0 innings of works. This run includes a ridiculous 0.483 WHIP and 11.8 strikeouts per nine innings.

Not to mention, Scherzer's September follows a span in August in which he pitched to a 1.55 ERA. On the year, Scherzer leads the league in ERA (2.08), WHIP (0.811) and hits per nine innings (5.43).

Burnes is no slouch in this race, either. More of a strikeout master, Burnes leads the league with strikeouts per nine innings (12.59) and home runs per nine (0.342) while ranking second in ERA (2.34) and WHIP (0.937).
