The New York Giants are one of a couple NFL teams that could go a number of different ways with their first-round pick. They have multiple holes to address on the roster including wide receiver and offensive line when they are on the clock next Thursday night.
Those needs are represented in the odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook regarding who the G-men will take with the No. 11 pick. Alabama wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle join Northwestern lineman Rashawn Slater at the top all tied with +390 odds.
Giants First-Round Pick Odds
This shouldn't come as a huge surprise as it has been reported before that the Giants are still looking for an explosive pass catcher to join Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard on the offense. They could also use an upgrade along an offensive line that gave up 45 sacks last season (4th-most in NFL).
Smith balled out in 2020 racking up 1,856 yards on 117 catches and scoring 23 touchdowns on his way to winning the Heisman Trophy. Similarly, Waddle averaged an impressive 18.9 yards per reception during his college career despite dealing with a number of injuries.
While Slater may not seem like an exciting pick, he has the potential to be an instant and long-term starter in New York and the flexibility to play anywhere on the offensive line. No matter who the Giants take, they need to ensure that they make the most out of this opportunity.
Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons (+600), Oregon offensive lineman Penei Sewell (+600), Michigan EDGE rusher Kwity Paye (+900) and Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II (+900), Miami defensive lineman Jaelan Phillips (+1000), South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn (+1000) and Virginia Tech tackle Christian Darrisaw (+1100) fill out the rest of the top 10 in the odds.
