Despite Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker being in the NBA Finals for the first time in his career, you wouldn't know it. After a 27-point performance in Game 1, Booker dropped another 31 points to help the Suns to a 118-108 Game 2 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday to take the 2-0 series lead.
As a result of his performance, Booker is now closing the gap on Suns teammate Chris Paul when it comes to the NBA Finals MVP race odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
NBA Finals MVP Odds
Paul was the -140 favorite ahead of Thursday's game and his odds have stayed the same after Game 2. However, Booker's odds have seen a considerable jump from +500 to +250. If he can string together a couple more performances as we saw on Thursday, it wouldn't be unfathomable for Booker to steal the award out of Paul's clutches.
Meanwhile, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to be his team's NBA Finals MVP favorite. After tallying a game-high 42 points and 12 rebounds in Game 2, Antetokounmpo's award odds sit at +400. Suns center Deandre Ayton rounds out the top four in the odds at +2000.
Nevertheless, no odds are ever written in stone. With at least two more games to go in the series, anything can happen in the Finals MVP award race.
