Kenny Golladay Injury Update Crushes Marvin Jones Jr. Fantasy Outlook

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay was able to practice on Wednesday for the first time since injuring his hip in Week 8. This puts him on track to suit up come Sunday, though nothing is set in stone quite yet.
Assuming things keep trending in this direction, Golladay should return to being a no-doubt WR1 once he's back in the lineup. But his return essentially erases Marvin Jones Jr.'s fantasy football value.
Matthew Stafford is at practice, as promised, but doing absolutely nothing. Didn’t even stretch. Has a small black supportive wrap thing on the thumb of his throwing hand. Did not see him attempt even one pass.

Kenny Golladay Fantasy Outlook
Though he's missed four games due to injuries, Golladay has been tremendous when he's been on the field. The Lions' superstar wideout has recorded either 100 receiving yards or a touchdown in each of his four healthy outings this season.
Assuming he's recovered from that hip injury, Golladay should be viewed as a matchup-proof WR1 in fantasy.
Marvin Jones Jr. Fantasy Outlook
Golladay's return is good news for the Lions' offense and fantasy managers, but it's actually a devastating blow to Marvin Jones Jr.'s fantasy value.
The 30-year-old Jones has played nine games on the year. In the five games he's played without Kenny G (including Week 8 when Golladay left early), Jones is turning 7.0 targets into 4.4 catches for 51.2 receiving yards per game. He has hauled in 5 touchdowns in that time.
How did Marvin Jones Jr. catch this? ?

However, Jones has essentially bene invisible when Golladay has played. Across those four games, Jones is turning 4.0 targets into 2.8 catches 37.0 receiving yards per game with zero touchdowns.
Jones may still retain some appeal as a TD-dependent WR4 with Golladay healthy, but he's not going to offer much more than that. And it doesn't help that T.J. Hockenson has established himself as Matthew Stafford's favorite red zone targets.
It may sting, but Golladay's return actually makes Jones droppable if you need to make room for waiver wire pickups.
