The Justin Fields era is here. Fields has officially been named the Chicago Bears' starting quarterback in Week 3 with Andy Dalton sidelined due to a knee injury.

Fantasy football managers who have Fields rostered should be giddy heading into Sunday's contest.

This is a golden opportunity for Fields to make a serious case to be the team's full-time starter even when Dalton is healthy again.

Fields took over for Dalton following his injury Week 2 and helped the Bears stave off the Cincinnati Bengals. His numbers weren't great -- 6-of-13 for 60 yards and an INT -- but that was after being thrown into the fire against one of the best defenses to start the year.

Now Fields gets an entire week to practice with starters, which he's seldom done this offseason. Those reps will be crucial as he finally gets to develop chemistry with the likes of Allen Robinson and Darnell Mooney.

Fields' arrival could finally unlock a stagnant Bears offense. Chicago is averaging the second-fewest passing yards per game (135.5) this season, but Fields has the arm to take this unit where Dalton couldn't.

This is a QB who racked up 5,373 yards and 63 TDs in two seasons at Ohio State. He also recorded an impressive 68.4% completion percentage while averaging 9.3 yards per attempt. Not only can he push the ball down the field, but he's deadly accurate.

Fields is also a dual threat who ran for 1,133 yards and 19 TDs in three collegiate seasons. The Bears' mediocre offensive line could mean plenty of chances for the QB to improvise and create a big play, either through the air or on the ground — which is often the key to early fantasy success for rookie QBs.

Fields should immediately draw starting consideration heading into a Week 3 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland has allowed the eighth-most PPR points per game (19.91) to opposing QBs this season and is ranked second-worst in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA metric.

Fields also checks in at QB15 in The Duel's rest-of-season fantasy football rankings.
