When Jarvis Landry went down in the first quarter of the Cleveland Browns' victory on Sunday, the team had to overcome the absence of its two leading wide receivers in Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr.
Beckham remained sidelined in Weeks 1 and 2 as he continues to rehab from ACL surgery while Landry suffered an MCL sprain.
The Browns did persevere with a 31-21 victory over the Houston Texans in Week 2, but the roster needs some positive injury news around its wide receiver corps before a tough Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
Jarvis Landry Injury Update
Landry is officially week-to-week with his MCL sprain. The injury news was far better than originally expected, but it looks like the Browns top wideout will be out of the starting lineup for the next couple of weeks.
Odell Beckham Jr. Fantasy Outlook
Luckily for Cleveland, Beckham is poised to make his return in Week 3. The three-time Pro Bowl wideout will fully take over No. 1 wide receiver responsibilities and is an easy fantasy start in Week 3.
Cleveland relied heavily on its tight ends Austin Hooper and David Njoku after Landry went down in Week 2. Both tight ends combined for 8 targets while no Browns receivers recorded more than 2 targets in the contest.
Landry saw 5 targets in Week 1 and there's no doubt that OBJ gets that sort of volume (or more) in Week 3. Cleveland hasn't officially ruled Beckham active for Week 3 quite yet, but the expectation is that he will be ready in time.
Fantasy managers should pay attention to the injury report, but he's an obvious start at WR once activated.
