There's no other way to put it, James Robinson struggled mightily in Week 1 of the NFL season – at least from a fantasy perspective. The second-year back managed just 8.4 PPR points after 5 carries for 24 yards and 3 receptions for 29 yards.

Despite the disappointing start, Robinson's Week 1 usage should rest the minds of fantasy managers.

Carlos Hyde led the Jaguars with 9 carries on Sunday and both ended with 11 total opportunities. But the Week 1 snap rates paint a different picture. Robinson still outpaced his backfield mate with 64% of the total snaps compared to Hyde's 34%.

Another point in his favor was the game flow. Jacksonville got off to a terrible start, down 14-0 in the first quarter. Down big early, Urban Meyer had Trevor Lawrence attempt 51 passes, the third-highest mark in the league thus far. Forced to air it out early, Robinson was never going to see his usual workload in this one.

Robinson is still the unquestioned leader in this backfield. Assuming Jacksonville gets a more normal game flow moving forward, Robinson should return to rock-solid RB2 status.
