Jamal Murray Injury Update Crushes Nuggets 2021 NBA Finals Odds

The Denver Nuggets received a brutal blow on Monday night, as star guard Jamal Muray went down with an ugly knee injury.

The news only got worse on Tuesday morning, as an MRI revealed that Murray suffered a torn ACL in his left knee.

Obviously, losing a guy who was averaging 21.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game is going to hurt Denver's chances of winning the 2021 NBA Finals.

Accordingly, the Nuggets' odds to win the title have taken a huge hit Tuesday morning, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Prior to this news, Denver was available at +1400. Just last week, the Nuggets were listed at +1700 to win it all.

But with Murray out of the picture, they've plummeted all the way down to +3000, giving them the eighth-best odds in the league. It's a shame, too, as Denver was really starting to hit its stride.

Since acquiring Aaron Gordon, the Nuggets had won eight of their last 10 games and had a puncher's chance to lock in the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. But without Murray, this team's ceiling has been capped. It's hard to see Denver doing much beyond winning one playoff series.

Hopefully Murray can get back to full strength next season.
