PGA DFS This Week
After The Masters delivered us four days of exciting golf and saw Hideki Matsuyama pick up an impressive win, the PGA Tour is turning its attention to the RBC HErotage at the famous Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, SC.
While it's not the elite field many faced last week, there's still some solid players teeing it up this week.
With that in mind, let's take a look at three players to consider for your RBC Heritage fantasy team.
RBC Heritage Fantasy
Webb Simpson is the defending champion here, and we could see another top-tier performance out of him again this week. In what is a much less elite field than last week's Masters, Simpson has played great here in recent years. In his last four times teeing it up at Harbour Town, Simpson has four top-16 finishes, two top-5 finishes and a win. And it's not like Simpson is playing bad golf coming into the event this year either. Even in a field filled with the world's top players, Simpson finished T-12 last week at Augusta. He could ride that momentum into this week against much easier competition. A well-rounded player like Simpson can thrive on this tricky course, and his resume proves that.
Speaking of guys who played well last week at Augusta, Will Zalatoris got introduced to everyone outside of hardcore golf fans last week with his second-place finish at the Masters. In his five events prior to the Masters, Zalatoris never finished worse than T-22 and had two top-15 finishes and one top-10 finish. He has never played in this event before, but he ranks No. 25 on tour in Strokes Gained (SG): Off-The-Tee, No. 5 in SG: Approach The Green, No. 4 in SG: Tee-To-Green and No. 12 in SG: Total. Additionally, he ranks No 16 on tour in Greens in Regulations Percentage, all numbers that could point to success on a course like Harbour Town.
Cameron Smith has played in this event five times, and hasn't made the cut the last two years. But prior to that, he has two top-30 finishes and one top-15 finish, and the current form he's in is encouraging. Smith ended up with an impressive top-10 finish last week at Augusta, which continued a streak of solid golf that included a T-28, T-14, T-11 and No. 4 in a row prior to that. While he has struggled off the tee this season, Harbour Town is a shorter course, so he should be faced with more opportunities to keep his driver in the bag this week. With bunkers protecting almost every green on the course, Smith's No. 3 ranking on tour in Sand Save Percentage is great to see. His No. 16 ranking in SG: Putting surely helps too, especially if he opts to play the course a little longer by taking shorter clubs off the tee more often.
