David Johnson COVID Update Crushes Duke Johnson Week 15 Fantasy Outlook

As just about everyone predicted, David Johnson hasn't exactly had a DeAndre Hopkins-sized impact on the Houston Texans offense in 2020. Still, his presence in the offense is very impactful for fantasy football managers.

After missing Week 14 on the COVID/Reserve list, Johnson has been activated for Week 15's matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. This boosts his fantasy football outlook while crushing Duke Johnson's.

David Johnson Fantasy Outlook

David Johnson didn't exactly blow fantasy managers away in this exact same matchup when he returned from injury in Week 13, turning just 12 opportunities (10 carries plus 2 targets) into 44 yards and 1 touchdown.

He's averaging 13.9 carries and 3.3 targets per game (excluding Week 9 when he left early with an injury) on the season, though, and volume like that will always keep him in play as a reasonable starting option, especially in PPR leagues.

Just don't expect his efficiency to get a whole lot better against the Colts, who rank No. 6 in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric.

Duke Johnson Fantasy Outlook

Duke Johnson's fantasy value all but disappears when David plays. In the first seven weeks of the year, Duke averaged just 3.6 carries and 2.6 targets per game, then when David returned briefly in Week 3, Duke had 2 carries and 6 targets.
