It's been a tough season for Christian McCaffrey and his fantasy managers. When he's been on the field, he's been as dominant as ever, but the Carolina Panthers' star running back hasn't exactly played much.
Making his return from a six-game absence in Week 9, McCaffrey might've suffered a brand-new injury toward the end of the game. Though there's nothing concrete quite yet, it appears as if he hurt his shoulder and looks to be in danger of missing Week 10.
Christian McCaffrey Fantasy Outlook
Analysis with McCaffrey is pretty straightforward. If he's on the field, you're playing him no matter what. He's essentially played about 2.5 games this season, racking up 124.7 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring 6 total touchdowns.
It'll be crucial to monitor his status throughout the week. If he's ruled out for Week 10 Mike Davis will once again become a must-add and must-start player.
Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook
From Week 3-8, Davis was doing a pretty solid McCaffrey impression. He was averaging 86.5 yards from scrimmage on 19.6 opportunities (targets plus carries) per game. That kind of workload and production puts him on the RB2 radar as long as McCaffrey is on the shelf.
He does draw a tough break if he's starting in Week 10, as the Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are one of the NFL's best units against the run.
Still, Davis is only rostered in 73% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues. He's now a must-add player, especially if McCaffrey is looking at any extended absence. Fantasy managers will need to be checking Carolina's practice reports throughout the week.
