Chris Olave Disrespected by NFL.com's All-Rookie Team Predictions

New Orleans Saints fans are feeling optimistic about their team's passing game ahead of the 2022 NFL season. Superstar wideout Michael Thomas is feeling healthy, while the additions of veteran Jarvis Landry and rookie Chris Olave offer quarterback Jameis Winston more high-quality targets.

Olave could be a real game-changer in New Orleans if he can reach his potential early on, however, he already has his share of doubters. In fact, the 22-year-old has been absolutely disrespected by NFL.com's all-rookie team predictions.

NFL.com's Chad Reuter left Olave off of his all-rookie team list, instead having the Pittsburgh Steelers' George Pickens and Green Bay Packers' Christian Watson occupying the two wideout spots.

On one hand, it's understandable to list Watson considering he's an immediate starter in an offense led by reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. On the other, Pickens is playing with either Mitch Trubisky or rookie Kenny Pickett under center, likely limiting his offensive upside.

Meanwhile, Olave has the benefit of Thomas likely taking most of the defense's attention away from him. Plus, Winston was actually looking strong under center and if he can return to that level this fall, the former Ohio State WR should have no issue flourishing.

Olave was great in his final year with the Buckeyes, setting career-highs in receptions (65), yards (936) and touchdowns (13). Speaking of personal scores, this year's 11th overall pick was a touchdown machine in college, finding the end zone 32 times in his last 31 games.

If the Saints offense performs as well as it looks on paper, Olave shouldn't have any issue finding success. A strong rookie campaign would be a great way to help doubters like NFL.com eat their words.

Fortunately for Olave, he's receiving more respect from oddsmakers. FanDuel Sportsbook currently has him in a four-way tie for the sixth-best odds (+1000) to be named the 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
