Buccaneers Won't Let Rob Gronkowski Touch Lombardi Trophy
By David Hayes
Despite going on the road three times in their quest to winning Super Bowl LV as the underdogs to the Kansas City Chiefs, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are officially Super Bowl champions of the 2020-21 NFL season.
And one of the biggest contributors in that Super Bowl win over KC this Sunday night was former New England Patriots and future Hall-of-Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski, who scored each of the Bucs' first two touchdowns in Sunday's game.
Despite having this kind of impact on the field and securing the Lombardi Trophy for the Bucs for the first time since 2002, Gronkowski claims he hasn't even touched the championship trophy yet.
Gronkowski, a well-known personality on and off the field, even hints at the possibility of the Bucs withholding the trophy from his grasp given a stain on his history of handling it with the Patriots after he put a nice dent in it back in 2019.
Regardless of his past handling of the Lombardi Trophy, you have to hope this key piece to Tampa's Super Bowl victory gets his hands on it sooner rather than later.
