It's been a week of ups and downs for Rob Gronkowski's official injury status entering a highly anticipated Week 4 matchup. Unfortunately, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not be making his return to Foxborough against the New England Patriots.

According to reports, Gronkowski has been officially ruled out for Week 4.

Rob Gronkowski Injury Update

Gronkowski originally hurt his ribs during Tampa Bay's Week 3 contest against the Los Angeles Rams. He had not practiced until Friday, but his appearance during Tampa Bay's most recent practice saw fans hopeful for his return.

As pointed out by NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Gronkowski discussed rushing back from injuries as a key factor in his brief one-year retirement. It looks like Gronkowski and the Buccaneers have their eyes set on late-season heroics, as opposed to an early Week 4 non-conference clash.

Gronkowski has been brilliant to start the year, catching 16 of his 20 targets for 184 yards and 4 touchdowns. His four TDs ranks first among all tight ends and tied for the second most by all NFL pass-catchers in 2021.

Regardless of Gronk's status, the Buccaneers enter Week 4 as 7-point road favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook.
