Just a few weeks ago, there was some potential deep sleeper value in Amari Rodgers' fantasy outlook with the Green Bay Packers. He looked poised to fight for some snaps as a slot wide receiver in a busy Packers offense. But, with Randall Cobb back in town, that job is no longer up for the taking.

Amari Rodgers Fantasy Value

The other Rodgers on this team, superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, all but demanded for Green Bay to bring back his former teammate in Cobb. It ended the offseason Rodgers-Packers saga, but it dashed any hopes of Amari Rodgers finding a major role in this offense.

Cobb will likely operate as the second option to Davante Adams, who led the Packers with 149 targets last season. Adams nearly eclipsed 100 more targets than any other pass-catcher on the roster with Marquez Valdes-Scantling ranking second (63).

Amari Rodgers finds himself on the outside looking in as Cobb notched at least 60 targets in every one of his previous Green Bay seasons save his rookie campaign. This included three years with at least 100+ targets.

The Packers took the rookie receiver in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He broke out his final year with the Clemson Tigers, catching 77 balls for 1,020 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Rodgers now becomes a name for the future in Green Bay. With Aaron Rodgers' long-term future in serious question, the rookie may be more inclined to build chemistry with Jordan Love, the presumed next franchise QB for the Packers.

Amari Rodgers checks in with an average draft position of 277.3 and WR92, according to PPR data from FantasyPros. All four wide receivers ahead of Rodgers on the depth chart (Adams, Cobb, Allen Lazard, Valdes-Scantling) rank with higher ADPs.
