Mac Jones 49ers Rumors
The news has caused Jones' odds to be the No. 3 overall pick to skyrocket up to -170, according to NFL Draft odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook. This is a notable change given he had been ranked behind Ohio state quarterback Justin Fields (Now +145 odds) as recently as yesterday.
Jones broke out onto the scene in 2020 passing for 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns en route to winning a National Championship with the Crimson Tide. He finished third in the voting for the Heisman Trophy and could develop behind a seasoned starter in Jimmy Garoppolo.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has shown in the past that he is not afraid to make the move that he believes benefits the team the most. Jones fits the mold of past Shanahan quarterbacks with elite arm accuracy and an ability to make the necessary passes while also taking care of the ball.
So, don't be surprised if Jones is taken with the No. 3 pick to be San Francisco's quarterback of the future.
