With NFL training camps in full swing most NFL rosters are pretty set, especially at quarterback, but that doesn't mean there aren't a few possibilities of a trade. A team like the Indianapolis Colts, who just lost their starter Carson Wentz for 5-12 weeks for foot surgery, now could be in the market for a new signal caller. Or even a team like Washington that could be looking ahead to the future past Ryan Fitzpatrick.

While a trade for a QB surely seems unlikely at this late stage in the game, let's take a look at three quarterbacks that could be traded prior to the start of the season.

1. Jimmy Garoppolo

While Jimmy Garoppolo is just two years removed from taking the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl, the team traded up in the NFL Draft to select his eventual replacement in Trey Lance. The North Dakota State product was viewed as a project with sky-high potential on draft day, but early word out of Niners camp is that Lance is impressing beyond their expectations. It was first thought Jimmy G would be the quarterback for all of 2021, but if Lance is doing this well, and someone calls with a great offer for Jimmy, San Francisco could very well pull the trigger on a deal.

2. Nick Foles

This wouldn't be the first time Nick Foles is traded, and it also wouldn't be the first time he was brought in to replace an injured Carson Wentz (if Indianapolis acquired him). Foles now finds himself as at best the backup QB in Chicago, realistically the third-string behind future franchise QB Justin Fields. Foles has a potential out on his contract after this season, so he could be an attractive stop-gap option. He isn't needed in Chicago, but he could be elsewhere.

3. Gardner Minshew

Gardner Minshew's time as the starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars all but ended on draft night when the team selected generational talent Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick. It would be the stunner of the century if Minshew beat out Lawrence for the Week 1 job. However, Minshew Mania was a thing, and he showed some real flashes of success. He is still only 25 years old and represents by far the cheapest option on this list. Even if he's not brought in to be a starter somewhere, he still could be one of the league's most formidable backups.
