Nine quarterbacks were taken during the 2022 NFL Draft. Though they have both Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo on the roster, the San Francisco 49ers were one of the teams to take a chance on a rookie signal-caller.

Here's a look at the how 49ers' QB depth chart stacks up following the draft.

49ers QB Depth Chart 2022

1. Trey Lance

The Trey Lance Show could be in full effect this season. All indications point to San Francisco moving on from Jimmy Garoppolo and handing the keys off to the sophomore gunslinger. Lance made two starts during the 2021 campaign while serving as Garoppolo's backup, totaling 449 passing yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT during those outings. He also put up 157 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs in just one half against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4. Lance's rushing abilities give him sky-high potential as a dual threat.

2. Jimmy Garoppolo

Speaking of Jimmy G, he's still on the 49ers' rosters as of right now. Though the Niners have sought out deals for the 30-year-old, they seem intent on waiting through training camp to find someone willing to meet their price. He turned in a solid 2021 campaign and helped get San Francisco to the NFC Championship Game, so he'll be a prime target for any teams whose starters go down with preseason injuries.

3. Nate Sudfeld

Nate Sudfeld signed with the 49ers last offseason and served as QB3 during the 2021 season. He didn't appear in a game for San Francisco last year, but's re-upped with the team for another campaign. The former sixth-round pick has thrown for 188 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT across four career games since 2017.

4. Brock Purdy

Despite landing their potential franchise QB in the 2021 draft, that didn't stop the Niners from using a pick on another signal-caller this year. San Francisco selected Iowa State's Brock Purdy with the very last choice (No. 262) of the 2022 draft, making him this year's Mr. Irrelevant. He'll hope to shed that moniker by challenging for backup duties on the depth chart. Purdy totaled 12,170 yards, 81 TDs and 33 INTs as a four-year starter for the Cyclones.
