WNBA Best Bets and Predictions Today

Seattle Storm vs. Indiana Fever

Indiana Fever -8.5 (-112)

Indiana returns home after dropping a close game to Golden State and draws a favorable matchup against the Storm, a team that has struggled throughout the season. The Fever have been the more consistent team on both ends of the floor, while the Storm enter Friday with a 6-20 record.

The spread asks Indiana to win by nine or more points, and the Fever have consistently created separation against teams near the bottom of the standings. At home, I'll back Indiana to cover.

Atlanta Dream vs. Toronto Tempo

Under 183.5 Total Points (-112)

Atlanta and Toronto have already met twice this season, combining for 179 and 181 points. Both games finished below today’s total of 183.5.

The current number assumes a slightly higher-scoring matchup, but Toronto has struggled to score consistently over the past few weeks. Unless both offenses play above their recent averages, 183.5 feels a little too high.

Los Angeles Sparks vs. Chicago Sky

Chicago Sky Moneyline (-118)

These teams meet again after Los Angeles won the first matchup last week. While the Sparks came away with the victory, the game remained competitive throughout and now shifts to Chicago for the rematch.

This projects to be one of the more evenly matched games on Friday's slate. Rather than laying the 1.5-point spread, I'll take the moneyline and simply ask the Sky to win the game. Chicago has an opportunity to split the season series, and playing on its home floor gives the Sky a better chance to do just that.

WNBA Betting -- Frequently Asked Questions

What does the point spread mean in WNBA betting?

The point spread is a margin set by oddsmakers to level the playing field between two unevenly matched teams. For example, if the Dallas Wings are listed at -7.5, they need to win by 8 or more points for a bet on them to cash. Conversely, a bet on their opponent at +7.5 wins if that team loses by 7 or fewer points — or wins outright.

What is the moneyline?

The moneyline is a straight-up bet on which team wins the game, with no spread involved. Favorites carry a negative number (e.g., -200, meaning you must risk $200 to win $100), while underdogs carry a positive number (e.g., +170, meaning a $100 bet returns $170 profit).

How does the over/under (game total) work?

Oddsmakers set a projected combined score for the game, and bettors wager on whether the actual total will go over or under that number. For instance, if the total is set at 154.5 points, an over bet wins if both teams combine for 155 or more points. WNBA totals can swing based on pace of play, rest situations, and injuries, so it's worth tracking those factors before placing a total bet.

What are WNBA player props?

Player props are bets tied to an individual player's statistical performance rather than the game's outcome. Common prop bet markets include points scored, assists, rebounds, three-pointers made, and combinations of those stats.
