Any team facing Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills is in for a long day, which is why the Pittsburgh Steelers could be in trouble this week due to their depleted secondary. Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon was already ruled out to face the Bills, while fellow CB Cameron Sutton is questionable with lower-body injuries.

Unfortunately, the situation only got worse for Pittsburgh on Saturday. NFL insider Field Yates reports that starting strong safety Terrell Edmunds has also been ruled out due to a concussion.

Terrell Edmunds Injury Update

Edmunds suffered his concussion during last week's loss to the New York Jets. While he was able to log some limited practices this week, it's clear that the Steelers don't feel comfortable risking his health on Sunday, especially after the controversy surrounding Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

The 25-year-old had struggled so far this season, allowing seven completions on 10 targets. He's already allowed the same number of touchdowns (two) as last season, while also recording career worsts in passer rating when targeted (132.9) and missed tackle percentage (23.5%).

Nevertheless, Edmunds is still a leader on the team, so his presence will be missed. The Bills average 297.0 passing yards (No. 2) and 2.5 TDs through the air (No. 4) per game, so any absences in the secondary will definitely be felt.

Defensive back Tre Norwood took over for Edmunds last week and will likely draw the start against Buffalo. The former 2021 seventh-rounder racked up seven tackles — including two for a loss — in relief last week, so time will tell if he can build on it.

Even if Norwood steps up, it should be a long day for the Steelers' defenders.
