The Tampa Bay Rays will be in the thick of an intense division title race as they begin the second half of their season. At 53-37, Tampa is just 1.5 games back of the Boston Red Sox for first place in AL East. Any boost they can get for a playoff run will be much welcomed down the stretch.

Well, starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow is starting to make some progress in his injury recovery.

Tyler Glasnow Injury

Glasnow last appeared for Tampa Bay on June 14 and has been sidelined since with a flexor strain and partial UCL tear. Both of those ailments will be serious hurdles to overcome if he's to return for the playoffs, but the 27-year-old has resumed light throwing, which is a positive step in his rehab.

The Rays ace was an impressive 5-2 this season with a 2.66 ERA and 123 strikeouts across 14 starts before heading to the injured list.

Hopefully Glasnow can avoid any setbacks in order to give this team a boost during its postseason push. Tampa Bay owns the second-best odds to win the AL East at +155, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
