Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Colin Moran has been put through the wringer when it comes to injuries this season. He's dealt with multiple ailments in 2021 that have cost him time, though he got through most of June without any major issues.

Then Moran was hit by a pitch on Monday. And now he's headed back to the injured list.

Colin Moran Injury Update

Moran was diagnosed with a "small" fracture in his left hand/wrist after his HBP. It's disappointing news considering the infielder was enjoying a clean bill of health during most of June. Now his season will be interrupted yet again and he'll have to find his rhythm once he recovers.

The Pirates first baseman has recorded 4 home runs, 23 RBI and 9 doubles this season while slashing .280/.345/.414.

This is another blow for Pittsburgh as they continue to fall down the standings. The Pirates currently own a 29-50 record, which is the third-worst mark across the majors. Pittsburgh also owns just +30000 odds to win the NL Central division on FanDuel Sportsbook.
