Christian McCaffrey made his long-awaited return in Week 9, and it was everything Carolina Panthers fans could hope for. He exploded for 151 yards from scrimmage and scored 2 touchdowns as the Panthers almost upset the Kansas City Chiefs.

That excitement didn't last long, however, as McCaffrey is now dealing with a new injury.

This is a huge blow for the Carolina offense. Racking up 150 yards while working his way back from a serious injury highlights just how productive McCaffrey can be. His 28 touches (18 carries and 10 receptions) also showcased just how much this offense wants to run through the running back position.

When McCaffrey is out, that means the offense instead features Mike Davis. Davis averaged a solid 86.5 yards per game while starting from Week 3 to 8 earlier this year, but he's clearly no McCaffrey.

Panthers fans will surely be holding their breath as they wait for a more concrete update on their superstar RB ahead of an NFC South clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10.

FanDuel Sportsbook's early Week 10 odds have taken the Panthers/Bucs game off the board for now as we await news on McCaffrey.
