Holding the No. 14 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Vikings are in a bit of a no-man's land. They weren't a playoff team in 2020, and their pick reflects that. But they also weren't bad enough to land a top pick in what's looking like a loaded draft year.

ESPN expert Mel Kiper doesn't think that will stop them from making a splash, however, projecting an incredibly exciting move for the Vikings.

Vikings Mock Draft

Kiper projects Minnesota to trade up with the Denver Broncos to acquire the No. 9 overall pick in the draft. With that pick, Kiper has Minnesota getting an absolute steal in Oregon tackle Penei Sewell.

The top offensive line prospect in the class, Sewell has often been mocked as high as No. 2 overall.

Considering the Vikings cut ties with Riley Reiff earlier in the offseason, left tackle is an obvious position of need, and Sewell would be the perfect addition to anchor the line for years to come.

With Kirk Cousins leading a relatively young core of Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson, adding a monster like Sewell upfront could make this Vikings offense incredibly dangerous.

As things stand right now, FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds give the Vikings the second-best odds (+380) to win the NFC North next season.
