There have always been athletes involved heavily in social movements, but that has become increasingly prevalent in 2020. However, even with racial injustice at the forefront of the national conversation, even high-profile athletes aren't immune to profiling and harassment.
Just take a look at this disturbing story from LSU wide receiver Koy Moore.
This is a chilling and eye-opening story. The protests and Black Lives Matter movement that shook the sports world a couple months ago have gone quiet, but as Moore emphasizes, that doesn't mean the problems that were being protested no longer exist.
A freshman at LSU, Moore is only 19 years old. The behavior he describes would have been appalling regardless of his age, but to hear a 19-year-old discuss fearing for their life is especially jarring.
This is an all-too-common occurrence, and it's great to see young athletes like Moore stepping up and using their platform to continually bring attention to the issue.
