Dark Horse Team Surging in Deshaun Watson Trade Destination Odds

While a Deshaun Watson trade this NFL offseason may seem imminent, the Houston Texans seem to be fine staying put right now. NFL trade speculation always runs rampant, but one team in particular seems to be making a lot of momentum when it comes to Watson's trade destination odds.

When we last checked out Watson's odds, the New York Jets and the Texans were easily the top two teams, but the Denver Broncos have continued to surge up the rankings. Their +300 odds now trail only the Texans (+200), according to the player future odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook (only available in Colorado).

Deshaun Watson Trade Destination Odds - Broncos

The Broncos opened up the offseason as a long-shot, with +1000 odds to land Watson. They remained at that level until The 25-year-old quarterback recently stated the Broncos were one of a few NFL teams that "intrigued him". After starting six different quarterbacks in the past three seasons, it is fair to say the Broncos would benefit greatly from acquiring Watson.

Drew Lock is the current Bronco's quarterback but has struggled to lead the team to wins over the last two seasons as he has just an 8-10 record. Plus, Head Coach Vic Fangio has yet to commit to him being their starter in 2021. He threw for 16 touchdowns in 13 games last season, but had 15 interceptions and only a 57.3 completion percentage.

The other teams filling out the top 5 are the Miami Dolphins (+300), San Francisco 49ers (+350) and the Carolina Panthers (+700). These odds are bound to keep changing, but the Broncos are becoming one of the favorites and it isn't out of the question that Watson could be playing at Mile High Stadium next season.
