The start of Dallas Cowboys training camp kicked off with quite the injury scare for quarterback Dak Prescott. Only, it wasn't side effects from his devastating ankle injury. This time, it was shoulder soreness that's kept him from any sort of throwing drills since late July.
But, the Cowboys finally got some good news on that front. According to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, Dallas' franchise quarterback will return to practice on a limited basis on Monday.
Dak Prescott Injury Update
After downplaying the entire shoulder issue, the Cowboys revealed an official diagnosis of a "right latissimus strain." Prescott underwent an MRI over the weekend, which came back clean, and he appears on the right track towards a full recovery from this small issue.
Still, eyebrows were raised, considering the abnormality of a QB missing significant throwing reps during the start of training camp.
The Cowboys still have sky-high expectations for the 2021 campaign, as usual. In his last full season, Prescott and the Cowboys offense outpaced nearly every team in the league. In 2019, the Cowboys finished first in the NFL in total yards (6,904) and second in passing yards (4,751).
Entering the 2021 campaign, Dallas owns favorable -156 odds to make the playoffs and +3000 odds to win Super Bowl 56, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
