Courtland Sutton Injury Update Makes Him Risky Start in Week 2

After a breakout season in 2019, Courtland Sutton was a hot commodity in fantasy drafts this Summer, but so far the return has not been there for the Denver Broncos wide receiver. Sutton was out Week 1 with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder.

He'll be active for his team's Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but that matchup makes him a really risky start.

Courtland Sutton Fantasy Outlook

Sutton is clearly not 100 percent, and he's facing a Steelers defense that is. Pittsburgh might have the best defense in football, ranking No. 3 in Football Outsiders pass defense DVOA and No. 1 in weighted DVOA last year. The ferocious pass-rushing unit (No. 1 in sack percentage in 2019) should bother Drew Lock all day.

That's how things played out last week for Pittsburgh, as Daniel Jones (3 sacks, 2 interceptions) and the New York Giants were held in check by the Steelers, aside from one deep touchdown pass to Darius Slayton.

Sutton is definitely talented enough to do some damage today, but the shoulder injury and difficult matchup make him a really risky start in Week 2.
