3 Low-Cost Free Agents the Seahawks Should Target in NFL Free Agency
By Max Staley

The Seattle Seahawks aren't too far away from Super Bowl contention. But even with Russell Wilson at the helm, this team could still stand to make some upgrades. While the Seahawks have upwards of $50 million in cap space, a lot of that could disappear if the team elects to re-sign Jadeveon Clowney.
With that in mind, here are three low-cost free agents Seattle could target this offseason.
3. Thomas Davis, LB
Thomas Davis was just released by the Los Angeles Chargers. He could be an interesting fit on a Seahawks' team that needs to upgrade their run defense, having finished with the seventh-worst run defense last season, according to Football Outsiders' DVOA metrics. Davis is coming off a 112-tackle 2019 campaign, proving he can still get it done at an advanced age.
2. Linval Joseph, DT
Linval Joseph is an accomplished run-stuffer, having been named to two Pro Bowls. He's not as effective as he once was, but his 6 tackles for loss last season were the most he's recorded since 2015. He'd provide an instant upgrade in the run game for Seattle.
1. Ben Garland, C
Ben Garland performed admirably once he took over at center for Weston Richburg in San Francisco last season. He'd be a solid, low-cost option to replace Justin Britt, who tore his ACL this past season. Garland is also a versatile option who is capable of playing both guard and center. Because he doesn't have a particularly long track record, though, Garland shouldn't cost too much to acquire.
