Washington Gets Bad News on Latest Matt Ioannidis Injury Update

The Washington Football Team will be missing one of their key players against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday. The Bills announced on Saturday that defensive tackle Matt Ioannidis has been ruled out for the game and won't make the trip to Buffalo.
Ioannidis suffered a knee injury during Washington's Week 2 victory over the New York Giants, however, he was able to return to the game. He was listed as questionable for this Sunday's game, but it's clear that WFT would rather not take the risk.

Matt Ioannidis Injury Update
It's never good to see a player miss time due to injury, although, it's a tougher situation for Ioannidis. The 27-year-old veteran played just three games in 2020 due to a combination of a torn biceps and spending time on the COVID-19 list. An injury this soon into the 2021 NFL season is far from ideal.
Ioannidis has played 57% of Washington's defensive snaps so far this season, which is pretty average for him aside from when he played 73% in 2019. He hasn't done much with that playing time, though, recording just 4 total tackles in his team's first two games.
Even if Ioannidis hasn't been too effective this year, that doesn't change the fact his absence hurts in a game where Washington needs all the help it can get against a high-powered Buffalo offense. The Bills are currently 7-point favorites ahead of Sunday's clash, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
