The Baltimore Ravens' 2021 season was dealt a massive blow in the last week of the preseason after running back J.K. Dobbins went down. Initial fears turned out to be the worst-case outcome and Dobbins was diagnosed with a torn ACL that ended his year before Week 1.
A new video that shows the Ravens' first reactions to the injury is heartbreaking.
Head coach John Harbaugh is visibly distraught in the moments after the injury. He explains to Lamar Jackson and Anthony Levine that he just "wanted the first team offense to get one series together" before Week 1. His tone of regret is clear and it's devastating to hear.
Notably, Jackson and Levine offer heart-warming support to their coach. They say that the injury could've happened in practice, or Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders, and that it's just the nature of the game.
The Dobbins injury is an unfortunate way to start the year, but Baltimore still has its sights set on being a contender. This team can't dwell and they've signed veteran Le'Veon Bell to join the backfield behind Gus Edwards and Ty'Son Williams.
