Tyler Boyd Fantasy Outlook Positive for Week 4 Monday Night Football Against Steelers

So far this season, Tyler Boyd has been outshined by fellow Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross, who is currently fourth in yardage (292) at the position. In Week 4, the Bengals will head to Pittsburgh for an AFC North clash with the Steelers, as both teams are 0-3 and desperate for a win to save their season.

Ross shined in Weeks 1 and 2, but came back down to earth in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills, only totaling two receptions (on six targets) for 22 yards. While the third-year receiver should bounce back in Week 4, the best matchup belongs to Boyd, who plays a majority of his snaps out of the slot.

Boyd has been steady if not spectacular so far, recording at least six receptions and 60 yards receiving in each week. He's also pacing the team in targets this season (33 to Ross' 26).

Boyd will now arguably get his best matchup of the season so far against a Steelers defense that has been shredded by opposing slot receivers. Julian Edelman had six catches for 83 yards in Week 1, and Tyler Lockett recorded 10 catches for 79 yards in Week 2.

All in all, slot receivers have seen 29 targets against Pittsburgh, catching 26 passes for 323 yards and three TDs.

In his one game against the Steelers last season, Boyd caught seven balls for 62 yards and two touchdowns. Pittsburgh's struggles covering slot receivers could point to another strong performance from Boyd on Monday night.

Boyd has yet to score a touchdown this season, but all the stars are aligning for him to have a potentially monster outing on "Monday Night Football." He has upside to finish as a WR1 in Week 4.
