Tom Brady has had a few shaky performances in 2020, but for the most part he has been tremendous. He's led the Buccaneers to a 7-3 record and is on pace to have his best statistical season since his 2017 MVP campaign.

But inexplicably, his odds to win the 2020 MVP award don't seem to reflect that.

FanDuel Sportsbook gives Brady the fifth-best odds to take home his fourth MVP award, putting him at +2000. But there's a huge gap between Brady and even the player with the fourth-best odds, Kyler Murray (+800). There's no way the gap should be that big.

For one, Pro Football Focus gives Brady the second-highest grade among all quarterbacks (90.8). He only trails Aaron Rodgers (93.5), who Brady demolished when the two met in Week 6.

And while his poor showings against the Saints have thrown people off the scent, Brady is actually on pace for a monstrous statistical season. Since Week 3, he's on a 16-game pace to record 4,566 passing yards with 44 total touchdowns to just 8 interceptions. Those are absolutely MVP-caliber numbers.

Plus, to Brady's credit he's done all of this on the fly. He's adjusted to a new team, system and coaching staff for the first time in his 20-year NFL career in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic.

To be fair, Brady does have a decent amount of ground to make up if he wants to catch the likes of Patrick Mahomes (+175) and Russell Wilson (+280). But there's just no way he should be this far back of those guys.

If he can perfect his rapport with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown over the final six games of the year, look for Brady to make a real run at this award.
