The 2020 NFL offseason was one of the most action-packed in league history. Future Hall-of-Famers Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philip Rivers signed with the Indianapolis Colts and top-flight cornerback Byron Jones left the Dallas Cowboys.

In fact, so much happened that quite a few additions have gone under the radar. One of those underrated moves was the Philadelphia Eagles' acquisition of Darius Slay, who might be good enough to singlehandedly transform the team's secondary.

Slay hasn't gotten the recognition he deserves yet, as he's been toiling away in obscurity with the Lions, but his time in Philadelphia should change that. Over the last three seasons, Slay has more passes defended (56) than any other corner in the league, and he's also tied for first at the position with 13 interceptions.

In fact, Slay is the only player in the league with 50-plus passes defended and three Pro Bowl nods over the past three seasons.

Considering the Eagles were a middling No. 16 overall in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA metrics, the addition of Slay could singlehandedly take this secondary from average to top 10 in 2020.
