The all-time highest earner in Challenge history is out, but at least she went out swinging. After getting eliminated by Dee, with Wes' help, Ashley bombarded the red-headed genius with a slew of insults we won't print here. But if you followed our advice last week, you likely ended episode four on a much-happier note.
Here at The Duel, we'll be providing weekly fantasy picks and power rankings for each episode of MTV's "The Challenge: Total Madness." Here are our picks for Week 5.
The Challenge Fantasy Picks Week 5
It's a guy's elimination week, and Jordan has been uncharacteristically quiet this season. Arguably the best all-around athlete on show, expect the three-time champ to throw himself in if given the chance. Despite looking like a real-life Waluigi in last episode's confessionals, Jordan is our MVP pick of the week.
At this point, Bear is essentially the official competitor of The Duel. He's now been featured in four of our five weekly picks. Naturally, it'll be tough for him to top last week's performance, when he sprayed a fire extinguisher all over most of the cast, earning himself a total of 9.4 fantasy points. But it's Bear, so he somehow played it off and emerged more-or-less unscathed. This week's episode is titled "Break Up With Your BF, I'm Bored." Obvious Ariana Grande reference aside, this could hint at some more fireworks between Bear and Kailah, who also makes for a solid pick here.
No one has officially pulled off a shocking vote yet. Other than Ashley, the only people who have been thrown in have either wanted to try to earn a red skull, or were victims of the show's rookie bias. Whether he's blindsided or is the architect of some absurd scheme, it would be a surprise if Wes wasn't heavily involved in this week's vote – particularly after his decision to very publicly help Dee. Wes is also always a good source of snarky commentary in confessionals, giving him a high floor on a weekly basis.
The Challenge Power Rankings Week 5
The following power rankings break down the long-term outlook of which competitors have the best chance at winning the show outright.
5. Jay – We included Jay in the top five last week, and he proved himself yet again with a strong performance in last week's challenge. He's here to stay.
2. Wes – Wes might be the most well-positioned competitor on the show. Allied with Dee, and his mortal enemy Bananas, Wes has friends in the right places, but doesn't have the target on his back that Bananas and Jordan do.
5. Big T – Probably (definitely) an overreaction, but Big T was absolutely electric television in Week 4. Even strategic masterminds like Bananas and Wes took note of her shameless politicking.
2. Dee – Dee earned her red skull, and that gives her the nod over Tori here. If she plays her cards right, she's got an easy path to a final.
