Saratoga Horse Racing Picks for Saturday 8/20/22

Starting at 12:30 p.m. ET, we have 11 races Saturday at Saratoga. Using 
numberFire’s projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing.

According to numberFire Racing's projections, these are the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing today.

1. Consumer Spending and With The Moonlight, Race 8

Race 8 is the $200,000 Lake Placid Stakes (G2) for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/6 miles on the inner turf.

As we begin this Late Pick 4 sequence, the numberFire data projects Consumer Spending (7/2) to win for trainer Chad Brown, who also saddles the numberFire top challenger Eminent Victor (5/1). The favorite is European runner With The Moonlight (9/5) on the rail.

Consumer Spending is a talented route runner who won her first two races this year and then finished third behind With the Moonlight with her best speed figure of 110. That race was a longer distance, and Consumer Spending can stay closer early before closing fast down the stretch.

2. Caravel and Too Sexy, Race 9

Race 9 is the $150,000 Smart N Fancy Stakes for older fillies and mares sprinting 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf. Caravel (4/1) Miss J McKay (4/1) and Too Sexy (5/1) are the picks, according to the numberFire data.

Trainer Christophe Clement has three runners in the race, Miss J McKay with Irad Ortiz Jr. riding, Too Sexy ridden by Joel Rosario and Lady Edith (8/1).

3. Nest and Secret Oath, Race 10

Race 10 is the $500,000 Alabama Stakes (G1) for 3-year-old fillies going the classic 1 1/4 mile distance. The race features the 1-2 finishers from the Kentucky Oaks, Secret Oath (4/1) and Nest (1/2), who is the top pick of numberFire with leading jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. riding for top trainer Todd Pletcher.

Nest came back to finish second against the boys in the Belmont Stakes, and then won another Grade 1 race in the CC American Oaks last month with her best ever speed figure of 110.
