Saquon Barkley Injury Update Solidifies Devontae Booker Week 8 Fantasy Outlook

Sixth-year veteran running back Devontae Booker has been leading the New York Giants backfield every since No. 1 RB Saquon Barkley went down in Week 5 with a low-ankle sprain.
While Giants fans were hoping for a Week 8 return for Barkley, that won't be the case. The Giants announced Saturday that he's been ruled out against the Kansas City Chiefs, meaning Booker should see a lot of work in Monday Night Football.

Saquon Barkley Fantasy Outlook
The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported early in the week that there was an "outside chance" that Barkley would play against the Chiefs. While he showed up to Wednesday's practice, he hasn't been a participant since then.
With no concrete return timetable, it's understandable that fantasy managers are frustrated with how Barkley's 2021 season has been unfolding.
Devontae Booker Fantasy Outlook
Booker has done a decent job at taking over the No. 1 job in Barkley's absence. He's rushed the ball 42 times over the last three games for 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He's also hauled in nine of 11 targets for an additional 60 yards and a receiving TD.
Now, Booker has a chance to go against an underperforming Chiefs defense. After all, Kansas City is allowing 128.9 rushing yards per game (27th). Even if the Giants fall behind and have to pass more, the Chiefs have given up the eighth-most receptions (44) and fifth-most receiving yards (370) to running backs in 2021.
At the end of the day, the Chiefs are giving up the 13th-most fantasy points per game (22.6) to running backs this season.
Considering that Booker has been on the field for at least 72% of New York's offensive snaps over the past three weeks, his fantasy outlook looks great for Monday Night Football.
