Reds News: Cincinnati Gets Bad Nick Castellanos Injury Update

The Cincinnati Reds are in the thick of a heated NL Central race to start the second half of their season. At 49-47, they trail the Milwaukee Brewers by 6.5 games for the division lead, so they'll need some luck on their side if they're to make up ground.
However, the recent injury to right fielder Nick Castenallos complicates things.

Nick Castellanos Injury Update
Castellanos was forced to leave last Friday's game against the Brewers after being hit by a pitch in his wrist. The initial reports indicated nothing was broken and he just needed rest. However, the right fielder recently revealed that he has a microfracture in his wrist.
It doesn't sound like an injury that will require a lengthy stint on the injured list, but it's now something that Castellanos will have to deal with down the stretch.
The ninth-year pro got off to a blazing start this season and earned his first All-Star nod for his efforts. He's recorded 18 home runs, 59 RBI and a majors-best 29 doubles in 86 games so far. He's also slashing .329/.383/.582.
Castellanos avoiding a re-injury of his wrist will be important if the Reds are to remain in the NL Central hunt. They own +600 odds to win the division, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
