Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley has gotten off to just about the best start imaginable for the third-year pro out of Alabama.
Despite playing opposite one of the tap WR talents in the league in Julio Jones, Ridley has already amassed 43 receptions for 657 receiving yards and 6 receiving TDs through eight games played. However, in Atlanta's most recent game in a Week 8 matchup with the Carolina Panthers, he was forced to exit the game early with a left ankle injury.
But Falcons' interim head coach Raheem Morris had a solid update for Ridley's fantasy managers and Falcons' fans alike this Friday.
For a wide receiver with the quickness and agility of Ridley, an ankle injury is always the last thing you want to hear, which is why positive news on his latest status this early is a wonderfully optimistic sign moving forward.
While Morris, kept it vague, a "great spot" is just about the best thing we can hear on Ridley for the time being with the facility closed, especially with Morris hoping to see him back in action Friday.
It's hard to say whether or not Ridley will be available for Atlanta's Week 9 matchup with the Denver Broncos just yet, but the Falcons have already opened as convincing 4.5-point home underdogs for Sunday's game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
