Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Friday, 2/5, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA
Bradley Beal Fantasy
Target Bradley Beal ($10,800), SG, Washington Wizards: Bradley Beal has been the best scorer in the league this year, averaging an NBA-high 34.8 points per game (PPG). Needless to say, that's also translated into some fantastic fantasy production from the Washington Wizards' star, who is averaging 50.38 FanDuel points per contest over his last five. Now facing a Miami Heat defense allowing opponents to convert 38.4% of their 3-pointers (No. 23 in the NBA) while surrendering the league's second-most 3-point attempts per game (41.0), Beal should have no problem justifying his hefty price tag.
Kemba Walker Fantasy
Target Kemba Walker ($5,700), PG, Boston Celtics: At just $5,700, Kemba Walker is a bargain. With Marcus Smart (and potentially Payton Pritchard) on the shelf, the Boston Celtics have virtually no scoring outside of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Smart's absence should also lead to an uptick in ball handling duties for Walker. The likely increase in usage should lead to a nice outing for Walker.
Nikola Vucevic Fantasy
Target Nikola Vucevic ($8,800), C, Orlando Magic: Nikola Vucevic has been a monster this season, averaging 44.16 FanDuel points per night. He should really benefit from a matchup with an atrocious Chicago Bulls defense. Chicago is allowing opponents to convert 44.8% of their shots from within 3-10 feet. That should play right into Vucevic's hands. He takes 24.1% of his shots from that distance, converting them at a 51.5% clip. The Bulls also play at the second-fastest pace in the NBA, meaning he should see more shot attempts than usual. That's a really enticing mix of volume and efficiency.
Gordon Hayward Fantasy
Avoid Gordon Hayward ($7,400), SF, Charlotte Hornets: Gordon Hayward will face his former team tonight, but it's tough to project him for a big game. This is a matchup between two bottom-12 teams in terms of pace, meaning his volume could take a dip in what could be a relatively low-scoring game. Plus, the Utah Jazz own the league's third-best defensive rating and surrender the third-fewest PPG (105.5). There's just too much working against him tonight.
Jerarmi Grant Fantasy
Avoid Jerami Grant ($6,800), SF, Detroit Pistons: Jerami Grant has exceeded even the wildest of expectations this season, but he could hit a speed bump tonight. The Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns are two of the seven slowest teams in the NBA in terms of pace. Phoenix also boasts the NBA's seventh-best defensive rating and is currently a top-five scoring defense. With the Suns surrendering the league's fewest FanDuel PPG to the position, Grant looks like a stay away tonight.
