Lions Get Terrible Romeo Okwara Injury Update After Week 4

The Detroit Lions' defense has been plagued by injuries to start the season, and things aren't getting any easier. Star pass-rusher Romeo Okwara left Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears with serious fears over a major injury.
And now any glimmer of hope regarding his status has been extinguished.

Romeo Okwara Injury Update
Initial concerns about a season-ending torn Achilles have been confirmed, according to Ian Rapoport. This is a major blow to a Lions defense that can't afford to lose a key member of a struggling unit.
Okwara recorded 1.0 sacks, 1 tackle of loss and 2 QB hits over the first four games of the season. Optimism was running high after career year in 2020, when he racked up 10.0 sacks, 11 tackles for loss and 18 QB hits.
It's disappointing for Detroit to lose the standout pass-rusher after he just inked a three-year extension this offseason. Hopefully the 26-year-old can get back to his pre-injury form in 2022.
