For most of the offseason, Detroit Lions' defensive end Romeo Okwara was overshadowed by his younger brother Julian, who Detroit selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. But the older, 25-year-old sibling is the one who looks like a real difference-maker.

In fact, the numbers prove Romeo is quietly developing into a legitimate star for the Lions.

Okwara currently ranks No. 7 in the NFL among all edge rushers in ESPN's pass-rush win rate, winning 24% of the time. That puts him right below stars like Joey Bosa (No. 5) J.J. Watt (No. 6), and right above the likes of Justin Houston (No. 8) and DeMarcus Lawrence (No. 9).

But that's not all – far from it, actually.

Okwara's 17.0% pressure rate ranks No. 4 in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus, and he ranks third overall in PFF's pass-rush productivity metric. That has led to Romeo recording 6.0 sacks, 12 QB hits and 18 pressures across his nine appearances in 2020.

Whether or not he can maintain this pace is a different story, but right now, Okwara is legitimately playing like a top-10 pass rusher.

If Julian can look anything like his older brother once he gets healthy, this Lions' pass-rushing unit could get scary in a hurry.
