Houston Texans safety Justin Reid made headlines in the preseason after showing off his impressive leg while subbing in for kickoff duties. Reid, a former soccer player and kicker in high school, got the chance to boot a handful of kickoffs in the Texans' final preseason game due to Ka'Imi Fairbairn being out with an injury.

It turns out Fairbairn will miss the team's Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Reid is making sure the opponent isn't sleeping on him.

Reid had a cheeky warning for the Jags before they face off. He claimed that he's not taking over kicking duties from Fairbairn, but then backtracked and told Jacksonville to be ready, just in case.

With Fairbairn out, new arrival Joey Slye will likely be leaned upon in Week 1. However, it's a smart strategy from Reid to keep the Jaguars guessing.

It's good to know that Reid isn't afraid to get the call in case he's needed.

The Texans are 3-point home underdogs ahead of Sunday's contest, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
