Amid all the injury-related chaos that Week 2 brought, Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson's stellar performance did not get much attention. The second-year pro stepped up when Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown got banged up, finishing the day with 121 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown.
Though the Rams backfield will likely continue to be a mess for fantasy purposes, Darrell Henderson is a really intriguing target in fantasy football leagues.
Darrell Henderson Fantasy Outlook
Henderson knifed through the Philadelphia Eagles' defense to the tune of 12 carries for 81 rushing yards. That was notably the most carries and yards on the team, and he did so despite playing just 42 percent of the snaps. For comparison, Brown handled 11 carries for 47 yards while playing 54 percent of the snaps.
He also saw 3 targets (2 receptions, 40 yards) while neither Brown nor Akers (who played just 3 snaps before leaving with injury) received even 1 target.
Though Henderson was clearly the most productive back on the team, it's difficult to project how the volume will be distributed when all three are healthy. That makes it almost impossible to trust Henderson (or the other two backs) on a weekly basis.
This backfield looks like it's going to be a headache all year long. Henderson has legitimate upside, but he's just a speculative waiver wire add at this point.
