Cowboys Get Update on Micah Parsons Injury

The Dallas Cowboys received an unfortunate surprise Thursday when standout rookie Micah Parsons was added to the injury report due to a hip issue. With the designation coming out of nowhere, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy cleared the air on Friday.
McCarthy told reporters that he "doesn't think" Parsons' injury is "of a serious nature" and that the Cowboys will be "cautious" going forward.

Micah Parsons Injury News
McCarthy added that the injury occurred in the weight room, so the hope is that it'll heal quicker than an in-game issue would.
Parsons has been absolutely dominant in his first pro season, looking like the clear-cut choice for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
The former Penn State has 72 total tackles on the year, with a league-leading 16 for a loss. He's been a menace to quarterbacks as well, recording 10.0 sacks and a team-best 25 QB hits. He's also tied for fourth in the NFL with 38 pressures this season.
While one player doesn't make up an entire defense, Parsons has been instrumental when it comes to Dallas allowing 22.3 points per game in 2021 (T-12th) as opposed to 29.6 PPG (28th) last season.
FanDuel Sportsbook is currently favoring Parsons to be named 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year at -2000 odds.
