Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard is in the middle of a breakout year, but he's dealing with a foot injury heading into Week 14. The third-year back suffered a torn plantar fascia in his left foot during his touchdown run last Sunday, putting his status in jeopardy.

The latest update on Pollard isn't encouraging news.

Pollard remains slated as a game-time decision, but the team has also promoted fellow RB JaQuan Hardy to the active roster. Dallas obviously wouldn't require Hardy to be on standby unless there's a real chance Pollard is inactive, so this could be a hint at where the injured running back is trending.

Losing Pollard would be a huge blow for Dallas heading into a must-win game against the Washington Football Team. The former 2019 fourth-round pick has already set career highs in rushing yards (602) and receiving yards (259) this season. He's been a sparkplug for this Cowboys offense with averages of 5.6 yards per rush and 8.4 yards per reception.

With Ezekiel Elliott playing through his own injury, Dallas' run game could be limited against a Washington defense that has turned things around. This unit ranks No. 8 in Football Outsiders' run-defense DVOA metric.

The Cowboys are current 4.5-point road favorites against Washington, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
