The Cleveland Browns have made headlines on Sunday morning, despite the team being on their bye week. First, they announced quarterback Baker Mayfield is in COVID protocol. In a bit of better news, the team also reported a positive Nick Chubb injury update, projected the star running back to play in Week 10.
Chubb is a monster in the backfield, averaging over five yards per carry in each of his first five seasons in the NFL, including a 5.9-yard average this year. The Browns running back has been out since Week 4, due to an MCL injury. He was lucky to avoid a season-ending injury, and the Browns were lucky to have a runner as talented as Kareem Hunt to fill in.
Still, there is no equal replacement for what Chubb does for this team. He has run for 335 yards and four touchdowns on 57 carries. This is incredibly impressive when considering his longest run has only been 29 yards this season, so he does not have one or two huge runs skewing his stats.
The Browns are also expected to welcome back tight end Austin Hooper in Week 10, which boosts their running game even further, with him being a solid blocker.
