Austin Ekeler gave fantasy managers a scare when he exited Week 14 early due to an ankle injury. The ailment put his playing status in jeopardy with a quick turnaround due to playing on Thursday night in Week 15.
Austin Ekeler Injury Update
The latest update on Ekeler is a sigh of relief heading into the first week of the fantasy playoffs.
Austin Ekeler Fantasy Outlook
Ekeler is expected to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday. It sounds like the running back is still hurting, but it's not enough to keep him sidelined.
This is nothing new for Ekeler, who's dealt with a few ailments already this season. They haven't stopped him from suiting up in every game so far for the Los Angeles Chargers, so he's clearly able to excel even when playing a little banged up.
Ekeler is averaging 16.9 touches (12.4 rushes plus 4.5 receptions) and 97.4 yards from scrimmage per game. He's scored a whopping 16 touchdowns in 13 games, helping him rank as RB2 in PPR scoring.
Now the Chargers' star draws a Chiefs defense allowing the 13th-most PPR points to RBs this season. With KC ranking No. 9 in most total yards given up per game, Ekeler should have plenty of opportunities to make plays as a dual-threat weapon out of LA's backfield.
Ekeler checks in at RB10 in The Duel's Week 15 fantasy football rankings.
