The Las Vegas Raiders are planning to release guard Gabe Jackson. The decision comes on the heels of a down year for Jackson, but the organization will save a little under $10 million by officially releasing the 29-year-old.

Here are three free agents the Raiders should target with the that extra cap space.

3. Romeo Okwara, EDGE, Detroit Lions

Romeo Okwara isn't the biggest name in this free agent class, but he's one of the best under-the-radar options available. He broke out in a big way this season, tallying 10.0 sacks for the Detroit Lions. While random breakout years like that can often be flukey, especially for pass-rushers, the underlying numbers suggest Okwara is for real. He generated the fifth-most total pressures (61) among all edge rushers in 2020, according to ProFootballFocus. For a Raiders team that struggled to get after the passer with any consistency, Okwara could be a huge get.

2. Richard Sherman, CB, San Francisco 49ers

The Raiders' secondary needs help at CB in a big way, and the team hasn't exactly been quiet about it. In fact, some even viewed Jon Gruden's comments about Richard Sherman as tampering. Regardless, it's clear this team is interested. And Sherman could bring a much-needed veteran presence to a young secondary.

1. Xavier Rhodes, CB, Las Vegas Raiders

Xavier Rhodes was released from the Minnesota Vikings after a disastrous 2019 campaign, but he returned to form in a big way in 2020. PFF gave him a rock-solid grade of 76.3 this past season. He's a bit of a riskier option, but Vegas should be able to afford him with the money it saved by releasing Jackson.
