The Philadelphia Eagles made headlines this past weekend by trading veteran tight end Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals. The three-time Pro Bowler spent eight seasons in the City of Brotherly Love and took time to pen an emotional goodbye to the fans that was published in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

What a show of class by the 30-year-old pro. Ertz thanked a ton of people throughout this message and reiterated time and time again how grateful he was for his time spent with the Eagles. As he notes, Ertz played a crucial role on the 2017 team that brought the city its first Super Bowl title.

"I came with one goal, to help win the first Lombardi trophy in this city's history and WE DID IT!"

Ertz is leaving behind a legacy that he hopes will last beyond the football field in the Ertz Family Foundation. He and his wife Julie set up this charity a few years ago that strives to help others through sharing faith, learning through sports and advancing education.

All things considered, Eagles fans should have nothing but fond memories when thinking back on Ertz's time with the team. The 2013 second-round pick racked up 579 receptions, 6,267 yards and 38 touchdowns across a total of 123 games played (85 starts) with the birds.

Ertz is set to take over as the starting tight end on what is the only undefeated team in the NFL. The Cardinals are 6-0 and currently have the sixth-best odds to take home the Lombardi Trophy at +2000, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
